I got back from Dude Fest late Sunday night/early Monday morning. It ruled, thanks to everyone who stopped by the Hyperrealist/Gilead merch table to pick up some records, chat, or take a free tote bag! I had a blast, so many great bands, so much fun hangout
As those of you who were at Dude Fest may know, the HWC Microeconomics 7"s turned out AWESOME. Head on over to the Gilead webtore to pick one up now... they won't be in stores for like 3 weeks or something.
After I got settled in from Dude Fest, I decided the best thing to do was play Team Fortress 2 since the new pyro update was released on Thursday. Excellent fun! Can't wait to play some more later in the week!
Another event from last Thursday was my first time seeing THOU. It was outstanding & surpassed my expectations!If they're coming near you make sure you do everything you can to check them out. Chances are you saw the tour dates, but if not scroll down to the last update!

Hello folks!
My goodness it has been a while since the last update from Gilead HQ. This weather rules & I've been trying to finish the X-files series before the new movie comes out... so I've been dedicating lots of time to those two things. That and I've nearly released as many records in 2008 as I have in all years prior!
THOU FULL US TOUR HOLY CRAP!!!!!
THOU are going on a MASSIVE full scale US tour. Take a look at these tour dates below please. And get out to support these dudes. They are working hard to bring their amazing mix of sludging black doom to basements, art spaces and small venues across the country, even in the turbulent times of failing economies. Please show them you appreciate the doom.
PRESSING UPDATES!!!!!
I know, the records I've been working on lately have been taking forever, but such is life with vinyl. HEWHOCORRUPTS 'Microeconomics' 7" is PRESSED and was received by good buddy Pat, who is screen printing the b-side pie chart. Get into it. Should be about 3-4 weeks before those are available for order. MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT/KENOMA split LP is ready to go go go... just waiting on color vinyl to be back in stock in the US. Everything else is in place for that one. Should be 2-3 weeks before it begins being pressed. ROCKY VOTOLATO 'A Brief History' 10" had some test pressing issues. So I have the lacquer cutter and pressing plant reviewing test presses so we can find the problem and fix it in a timely fashion. A THOU 12" that has the last to tracks from "Tyrant" not appearing on the Southern Lord vinyl version is underway and coming along nicely. Dosh LP is a possible future release, see what happens. Buried at Sea 2xLP/CD is in limbo, not sure if that's going to happen. But Gilead will be announcing a new LP project soon that is already underway. I want to hold off on announcing that one until art and lacquers are done. But it will be righteous as all get out.
DUDE FEST!!!!!
Pretty sure Gilead is going to be making an appearance at DUDE FEST in Indianapolis IN. If you're not familiar with this fest, check out http://www.lambgoat.com/news/view.aspx?id=10639 for lineup and ticket link. A few Gilead bands playing and lots of other sweet bands. Rumors are the show is going to sell out through weekend pass pre-sales. If I end up making the trek w/fellow WI friends from deadformat.net then I will be sharing a little table space with Hyper Realist Records. Sweet folks all around.

A few things to report!!!
This week we celebrate the opening of a new WEB STORE! It's something I've been considering for a long time, and with the help of Mr. Haxors.com, we made it happen. This also means prices are NO LONGER POSTATE PAID! Very stoked on that indeed.
Next matter of business. Today I approved the OF SINKING SHIPS test presses! Very happy to have those underway. There are going to be some changes in vinyl color due to the low quality color vinyl compound that the pressing plant has and their lack of satisfaction with it. But it's going to end up awesome with the Plan B vinyl colors, don't worry.
Finally... along with the new webstore comes a TEST PRESS SALE! A number of Gilead test presses are for sale in the vinyl section. Head over the new store and check it out!

WHOA!
INDRICOTHERE is a release I'm very proud of. Every aspect of it is incredible... the music, the art. Outstanding. It also went on the press today at the pressing plant (three different vinyl colors - total press of 700)! We should have finished product en route next week this time. I will open it up for order as soon as I have it in my hands (since Gilead Media is now primarily pre-order free!) If you havne't heard Indricothere yet, please do yourself the favor of the year Indricothere. Again, this is the one man-tech-prog-death metal project from Colin Marston of Behold the Arctopus and Dysrhythmia!
Here are a million other things Gilead Media is busy with! I'm out of control!

500 more foxes and 500 more ab life on new colors. I'm not telling you what they are, wait until they get here to see them. The pressing plant put the wrong labels on the wrong records, so they trashed them all and are repressing them this week. Mistakes happen, and the new vinyl colors will be worth it!
- Thou "Tyrant" CD
Gatefold jackets shipped last friday to the CD pressing plant for assembly, should be on the way to me next week this time as well! THOU is the truest of dark and heavy sludge/doom from New Orleans, LA. Prepare to be crushed! In stores March 25th, check out the full page ad for this and Indricothere in the new DECIBEL! THOU

Tests had a lot of noise, pressing plant is checking out it, should know what the story is in the next couple weeks. Will be so worth the wait!! Suppose to be out March 25th, but will be delayed.

Holy shit it's back! Second Nature is out of town right now, but is going to adapt the artwork with my new catalog number, logo, and design the insert. This will have a June street date, but I'm sure I'll have copies in early May. Might upgrade this to a 45 RPM 12", actually cheaper to press!
- Mouth of the Architect/Kenoma Split LP
My buddy Paul is working on this artwork now, similar to the CD, but different... and better. Sending the audio master off a master to be leveled for vinyl this week! In stores May 6th, 2008, but will have some in April!
- Hewhocorrupts - Microeconomics 7"
Sent the audio master to be plated this week. Artwork is SO CLOSE to done. End of next week this is going to press! April 22, 2008 release date, but will have some for mailorder in early April.

Hey folks, just wanted to remind you all that 1.29 was the street date for both mewithoutYou LPs & the Cancer Conspiracy CD! 2.12 is the street date for the Cancer Conspiracy LP!
March 25th releases will include: Indricothere "Indricothere" LP+CD, Of Sinking Ships "Of Sinking Ships" LP (finally), and the fucking dark THOU "Tyrant" Gatefold CD. information coming as soon as I have everything settled. Gilead Media is now a pre-order free label, so all new releases will ship immediately upon receipt of your orders.

First off, let me just let everyone know the all of the Cancer Conspiracy LPs are packed up and going out today! Huzzah!
I also just got a call from the delivery service, and the mewithoutYou vinyl is arriving tomorrow. My brother and I are going to crank out assembly of all the mailorder copies first, and ship those out ASAP.
Life has just been absolutely out of hand this year. Gilead has blown up in a way I never imageined, with three records coming out in January that my 2005 self would never believe Gilead would be releasing if my 2008 self were to tell him so. Make sense? Probably not. But anyway... I'm not slowing down just yet. Here is a list of amazing releases that I'm working on for 2008. Some are already in production.

Whoa! things have been crazy! And the amount of e-mail i've been getting inquiring about mewithoutyou pre-orders has been overwhelming! here is the official MWY VINYL UPDATE!
mewithoutyou vinyl:
i rejected both test pressings for sub-par sound quality. the lacquer/plating company is now reviewing the tests to try and determine where the problem occured, and what we can do to alleviate these issues in a timely manner. i will be sending a big ol email update when everything is ready
cancer conspiracy cd & vinyl:
the CDs are DONE. pre-orders will begin on OCT 15! i am waiting for vinyl test pressings... if we receive them in a timely manner, then LP pre-orders will begin on the 15th of oct as well. we are planning on including an exclusive tshirt along with the pre-orders for a little extra. all pre-orders are planned to ship nov 15, will not be in stores until january!
so that's how it is right now. i hope that the next time i update this, it will be to reveal pre-orders. wish on all your lucky stars!

Yea, ive slacked off on updates for a long time, i know this. Life has been busy. Well here is what's shakin!
-Both mewithoutyou LPs (catch for us the foxes + ab life) are almost done. All of the print is finished, just waiting for plates to be cut and test presses to be received. As soon as that happens, pre-orders will be available.
-Cancer Conspiracy CD is at the pressing plant. Will be done in a few weeks. Pre-orders soon. Vinyl version will be going off to press within the month.
-No idea what's going on with the Hewhocorrupts 7". The person in charge of getting print stuff taking care of has been non-responsive. Looks unlikely.
-Heller Mason recording is almost completed. Can't wait to hear some of the final mixes on this!
-The Juniper Wait will record their record someday. This is sort of ont he back-burner now, i guess.
-Gilead Media & Forge Again records free sampler is being pressed up. Will be included with all the mewithoutYou LP pre-orders, cool.

Graveface records has run a color vinyl repress of The Appleseed Cast "Low Level Owl" 3xLP that Gilead Media originally released just over a year ago. In exchange for the rights to manufacture the 3xLP, Gilead has received 40 copies to sell. These 40 copies are now available in the webstore!
The records are on hand now, and will be shipping as orders come through. I'll only have 40, so don't hesitate. They are $26 PPD.

I am proud to announce that later this evening pre-orders will open for the Dakotda/Dakota Shoot In The Dark+ LP. Here are the fine details...
This is a preorder for the super limited 140g black vinyl pressing of what amounts to the Dakota/Dakota discography. The 13 track LP contains the entire Shoot in the Dark full length, as well as bonus tracks from the Redline Distribution 2004 sampler, their OOP split 7" with Riddle of Steel, and an unreleased demo track. Also included in the LP is a copy of the Hamburger Help Us 7" sans sleeve, as the 7" tracks wouldn't fit on the LP. Two members of Chicago's now defunct Dakota/Dakota have moved on to form Russian Circles, which is the epic progression of Dakota/Dakota. 16 full of that mathy jazzy instrumental indie rock with plenty of tapping and looping. The covers are designed by Jackson Cavanaugh and hand-screened by Nightmare Printing, and the first pressing of this record is limited to just 100 copies and is a MAILORDER EXCLUSIVE LIMITED TO ONE PER CUSTOMER. This is a split release with Fudgesickill Records and Gilead Media. Each label will have approximately 30 copies for mailorder. We will be comparing notes to make sure you don't order from more than one of us. In a special bonus, one RANDOM winner will get a free TEST PRESSING of the LP. There are only 5 corrected test pressings in existence, and the other 4 will never leave the labels' hands. Order now, or forever hold your peace! The LPs will ship in early or mid May.

Things have been pretty hectic here at gilead central! The bunnies are getting huge and Herman needs to go to the vet because he doesn't munch on toys enough for his teeth to wear down. Tooth clipping does not sound fun, but he is a naughty bun so that's what he gets!
Mouth of the Architect 2xLPs have been blowing out of here! Thanks to everyone who ordered. A handful of colored copies still remain, so please tell your friends to order now!
Gilead received the unfortunate news a couple weeks ago that Translation Loss would in fact be handling the rest of the MOTA vinyl releases. No idea on when they're going to be released.
Here is a quick update on other current happenings:
-A Scanner Darkly are going on an indefinite hiatus! We are just as bummed about this as anyone. But hopefully they will return to crush heads in the near future!
-Subsequently the Uncle Bob Drives A Combine discography has been cancelled. Again, we are just as bummed as the next guy, trust me.
+The Cancer Conspiracy (Omega) CD/LP is in final mixing & mastering stages at this moment. Artwork will commence soon. Brilliance.
+The Paper Chase "Cntrl Alt Delete U" re-issue CD is now underway. Tracking down some artwork files is the first order of business. As things progress you will know about it!
+The Juniper Wait just released their beautiful split cd with Antilles. Head over to Arclight Comm.'s Myspace to check it out! They are currently writing material for their debut full length w/Gilead

Tonight i decided that a ton of gileadmedia.net updates were more important than sleeping... i've been neglectful. There is a ton of stuff that has been going on/i've been working on...
*MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT
wow.... what a band. before gilead became a real part of my life, there was mouth of the architect. an incredibly intense groundbreaking band from ohio that stole my heart. hours of my life have been dedicated to trying to wrap my head around their enormous riffs and immaculate songwriting. finally i am able to have a hand in what i humbly believe may be one of the finest "prog-metal" albums i've ever heard.
in august, translation loss released mota's "the ties that blind" on CD... in october gilead media will release the deluxe gatefold 2xlp of this fine album. please do yourself a favor and listen to mota right now. color vinyl, metallic print, huge riffs. be ready.
*THE CANCER CONSPIRACY
another release that is just blowing my mind to be a part of. the cancer consporacy were the very definition of groundbreaking... and everyday i think of what a shame it is that they were cut down before their prime. lucky for the world, gilead media & radar recordings are teaming up to release the final cancer conspiracy album entitled "OMEGA." sample an unmastered track.
*THE JUNIPER WAIT
i am darn pleased to announce gilead will be joining forces in the near future with ultra mega buddies THE JUNIPER WAIT! Cody, Matt, Rob, & Kyle have developed a style of invigorating & moody instrumental indie rock that surpasses the standards set forth by today's musical elite. TJW are destroying the perceptions of what pretty music has to be, and setting the standard for what it will become. Look forward to their CDEP (even though it's goign to be fairly lengthy) w/gilead sometime in early 07. Until then, bounce on over to Arclight Comm. and check out their split CD w/Antilles, which should be available quite soon indeed!

The artwork for ...Of Sinking Ships has finally been completed! View a quick snippet of the cover here. I placed my order with the pressing plant, and shipped off my audio master! I'm setting a street date of Sept 12 2006 for the album to hit stores, with webstore availability at least 3 weeks prior, alongside some RADICAL pre-order specials that will include an exclusive tshirt, pin, and patch! please stay tuned for details on that!
Uncle Bob Drives A Combine is coming along ever so slowly right now, as Adam Tucker is quite busy with his recording business, as travis/dru are busy with their own jobs. But fear not... pacho, kim, and uncle bob will deliver in the coming months, probably just not this summer as we had originally hoped!
Other amazing releases are in the future for Gilead Media, and as soon as the details are worked out, it will be posted here!

Between working two jobs totalling anywhere from 60-65 hours a week, living with my fiancee and raising 3 adorable baby bunnies... i've been pretty busy. Been trying to make more time for gilead lately since things are in the works.
